My Story

A young woman with long red hair wearing a black cap and shirt, smiling, standing between two horses inside a wooden barn.

Growing up, I spent my summers on a quiet family farm nestled in the wide-open landscapes of Montana—a place where life was simple, peaceful, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature. These formative experiences sparked in me a lifelong love for the land and, most significantly, for horses. Even as a child, I felt a deep sense of awe and respect for these powerful yet gentle animals. Often, I would say to myself, “I wish I could work with horses someday.”

That wish took shape years later when I discovered a ranch dedicated to equine-assisted therapy for children. It was there that my understanding of horses deepened—not just as animals, but as sentient partners in healing. Through quiet observation and meaningful connection, I began to grasp the unique wisdom horses offer—how they live fully in the present, how they communicate through body language and energy, and how the dynamics of a herd reflect loyalty, trust, and mutual respect.

Time spent with my own horse, Bandit, became a turning point. Learning his history and tending to his physical and emotional needs awakened in me a calling: to help restore wellness to the bodies and spirits of horses, regardless of their past or purpose. This journey led me to found Holloway Equine Therapy.

The name "Holloway" carries deep personal meaning for me. It is derived from two words—hollow and way. In English, a hollow refers to a sunken path, worn and weathered, often sheltered by trees and foliage. Though it may sit lower than the terrain around it, it offers protection, quiet, and reflection. In many ways, it symbolizes the paths we all walk—shaped by our stories, our hardships, and our healing.

Holloway Equine Therapy is built on this very idea: meeting horses where they are, honoring their pasts, and helping guide them toward physical and emotional balance. Every horse has a story, and every path to healing is unique. Here, those stories are not just acknowledged—they are honored.
